Easter at Borumba Dam
« on: March 30, 2016, 08:43:16 PM »

We had Boxxy, Bronnie, Tristen, Mick, Sam, Jimmy, Wendy and myself attend the Easter weekend break at Borumba Dam at Imbil.

A few of us show up at the camp site on Thursday to get an early start to Easter. On Friday morning we waited for Jimmy and Wendy to show up in Lizzie and their Avan. We all took odds on when they would show up unfortunately Boxxy won with Jimmy and Wendy show up around 9.30am.

After Lunch on Friday we went for a drive along Bella Creek road to Kilcoy and Murgon road ( old Landcruiser Park entrance ). The scenery was quite nice along the road up through the ranges with Lizzie's suspension getting a work out.

On Saturday we had an easy morning with most of us having a late breakfast and sit around. We had Boxxy's uncle drop by the camp site telling us amusing stories of Boxxy. We decided to go fishing up at the dam after a few hours of losing bait and hooks to the dam we decided to head back to the camp for some refreshments a game of boccie and birthday cake to celebrate Mick's birthday.

On Sunday morning we had some showers come in but nothing to worry about. We headed into Imbil for the craft markets after a walk around we drove up to the Imbil lookout to take in the scenery. We then headed into the Imbil state forest for a bit of a drive we had to share the roads with horse riders. So we headed over to Amamoor forest for some fun and notice some interesting tracks for future investigating. After driving around for a while we went back to camp for a very late lunch and refreshments.

On Monday Jimmy, Wendy and myself packed up and headed back to Brisbane with the rest of Easter holiday makers. Boxxy, Bronnie, Tristen, Mick and Sam were lucky enough to stay a extra night and miss the traffic. Borumba Dam is a great quite spot for a getaway with some good tracks in Imbil and Amamoor forest.
