Title: Please Read Before Registering for Trips

Notice to All Members & Visitors on Trip Procedures

All members, visitors and their passengers are reminded that their attendance or participation in any club trip or event is of their own choosing and that they accept full responsibility for their own actions and consequences.

All persons - drivers, visitors and passengers - are reminded that they have a 'Duty of Care' to themselves as well as others and that they are always to take all necessary and reasonable steps to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.

All members, visitors and passengers are reminded that although the Club attempts to conduct trips and events in the safest possible manner, there are many changing factors and unforeseen circumstances over which the club and its members have no control.

Members, visitors and passengers are the only persons who know their own capabilities and therefore are the only persons who know if they can participate or continue to participate in a club trip or event. If these persons feel that they or their vehicle are incapable of participating or continuing to participate in a club trip or event in a safe manner, then they need to withdraw at that time from that club trip or event. If this happens, the person(s) must notify the Trip Leader or Club Official by radio or other means of communication of their intention to withdraw.

Participants on trips must have the minimum recovery equipment to affect a safe method of recovery of their vehicle – e.g. recovery boards, or winch, or recovery points & snatch strap. If you have registered for a trip and do not meet these basic requirements, then do not be disappointed when you are told that you cannot join the trip. You, as the driver (person in charge of the vehicle) are responsible for making sure that you have enough equipment to affect a safe recovery of your vehicle.

Your participation on any club trip or event is conditional upon you and your passengers/visitors/guests or others, accepting Trip Procedure as always outlined in The Motley Crew 4WD & Social Club By-laws and therefore accepting the liability of your own actions.

Members/Guests that bring pets on trips acknowledge that The Motley Crew 4WD & Social Club denies any liability whatsoever. The club's insurance provider provides no indemnity and takes no responsibility for any fines, penalties, damage, loss, liability, injury or death caused by or to any pet/s while on club trips or events. Members that bring pets on club events must take full responsibility for any fines, penalties, damage, loss or liability caused by that pet/s while on club trips or events.

At the commencement of any trip you will be asked to sign a Trip Sheet; this is conditional that you have read the above statements, understand the above statements, and adhere to them during the trip duration.

Please remember that any event or trip is much more enjoyable when each of us takes care, not only of ourselves, but also for the safety of others.
