Trip Reports / Lockyer State forest day trip part 2

We meet up at Plainlands hotel with some members taking advantage of the Plainlands hotel breakfast, On this trip, we had Quinton, Sam, Sandy, Roger, Gary, May, Bob, Chris, Bec and there two boys, newbies Ian and Melissa their daughter and also their friend Brett and myself.

We headed into Gatton then turned north towards Waller Road and the Lockyer State forest. We pull up just before the hill climb on Waller road to give anyone time to air down. The hill climb had not been long graded so there weren't any ruts this time. We all headed up the hill with Sam taking some photos of the cars climbing up the hill. Once everyone made it up we drove along the track towards to play area.

When we got to the play area there were couple young guys having a go one of them in his Hilux was having trouble so watch them eventually get up. Quinton decided he was going to have a drive on the play area so Roger jumped in with him. After he made it to the top and came back down he then offered to take a few more up with Sandy, Bec, and Gary jumping in. Quinton picked a different track this time giving his passengers a trill.

After everyone had enough of the play area we headed up to Gus Beutel Lookout for lunch and take in the views from the lookout. With lunch done and dusted we headed towards Murphys Creek. It seems had they must have missed out on any of the showers that were happening all week before the weekend as it was dusty with everyone giving plenty of space so not to get too dusty. We pulled up near the train station and said our goodbyes and headed home.
