We meet up at the planelands hotel on a foggy Sunday morning with some of the Motley crew taking advantage of the breakfast the hotel puts on. We had a good amount of Motley"s turn up for the drive Ian ( Hangman ) Lynch, Boxxy and Bronnie their two grand kids Sophia and Archie, Wombat and Jay, Andrew ( Axeman ) Macdonald, Matt ( The Debater ) and Leigh Joy, Daniel ( Stormin Norman) and Kaylene Norman, Quinton ( Q ) Otususk, Sam Norman and their friends Shane and Bianca, Warren ( Wazza ) Horne and Bev ( Nanna Bev )Holsteir, and Brad Nicholls and his partner Jacinta, (newbies ) and myself (pigdog ),
We left the hotel around 9.15am and headed towards Gatton before getting into Gatton we headed out pass the Gatton recycling plant onto Waller Rd. We aired down and headed up the hill into the state forest. Check out some of the photos on the facebook site to see the vehicles of the members climbing up the hill.
After everyone got up the hill Daniel notice someone had dump a commodore over the edge on the other side of the hill informing everyone if a commodore can do it anyone can.We headed through the forest running into the Toyota club just before the play area. We got to the play area and pulled up Wombat lead the charge up the top of the play area hill with plenty of ruts and bumps followed by Daniel, Quinton, Warren and Ian with rest of us watching the dust fly.
When these guys had finish have some fun Andrew and Brad decided to play in bottom area of the play area in the ruts getting some good air under their rear wheels. We then took the side track up to the top driving through some muddy puddles and tight areas. We then headed up to Gus Buettell Lookout.
At Gus Buettell Lookout we pulled up got our chairs out and had lunch. It was great to sit around and talk about the trips and adventures we had experience in our 4X4. After we all fueled up our appetites we took the dry only road next to Gus Buettell lookouts and headed towards Murphy's Creek. The road was any easy track with some rutted areas. We got into Murphy's Creek aired up said our good byes and headed for home.
