Bellthorpe National Park
« on: June 23, 2015, 07:05:55 PM »
We meet up at Woodford on a chilly Sunday morning. We had Wombat and Jay, Neil and Janette, Rick and his son and his girlfriend, Ben and his two sons, Wayne his wife and there two kids and Ian. We left Woodford headed to the day use area on Stoney creek Rd to air down, then headed up Branch Creek Rd taking in the rainforest scenery. Before turn onto Brandon Rd we headed down Dog loop trail, after a short drive we pop out through the trees, picked our way through the rocks across the creek. Then we had two hill climbs to do after leaving the creek, the first hill climb everyone made it up, on the second hill climb Jay and I made it up in my Patrol. Then Wayne called up he was having trouble getting up the hill, I walked back down the slope after a discussion with Ian, Wayne and myself Wayne drop some more air from his tyres, and he took another line and got up the slope. It took Ben two goes to get up the slope but he made it, then Ian Rick, Neil and wombat made it up first go.

We then popped out on Brandon Rd then turn onto Beacon Rd and headed down to Beacon Lookout to take in the view over Kilcoy and Summerset Dam. After a break and a leg stretch we headed back down Beacon Rd back onto Brandon Rd again, we turn off onto Mt Kilcoy Rd heading back down the mountains to valley at the bottom of Mt Kilcoy rd. We aired our tyres up again then headed to Kilcoy hotel for lunch.

Some Bovines we meet on the way down (the black ones).
And others wondering what we were up to as we aired up our tyres.
