Australia Day Weekend Cocktail Party

CHANGE OF VENUE

Event: Australia Day Weekend Cocktail Party

Date: Friday 26th, Saturday 27th, and Sunday 28th January

Location: Rathdowney Showgrounds

Additional Information: The idea is that on Australia Day afternoon (26th January) we have a cocktail evening. The plan is that each campsite makes a cocktail to share with other members. Example Joe Bloggs decides to make and share a Black Russian cocktail he brings all the ingredients he needs and shares the cocktail with other clubs members then someone else makes a cocktail to share with club members. PLEASE BRING OWN DRINKING CUPS TO TASTE COCKTAILS. The rest of the weekend we can explore the Gold Coast hinterland or O Reilly's rainforest retreat.  PLEASE NOTE - THE COCKTAIL EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO THE EASTER CAMPING TRIP. See full notes on venue etc in post below.

The club has tried to book campsites for the weekend but the caretakers have advised the club that they don't take bookings. So please feel free to give the Showgrounds a call an see if they will take a site booking.

Once you have registered, please leave a message on what cocktail you intend to make so we don't get duplications of cocktails.

ATTENTION : CHANGE OF VENUE

Due to the fact we cannot definitely secure camping spots at Cunungra for this weekend the committee have decided to change the venue to Rathdowney Showgrounds

We will also be postponing the cocktail tasting event to the Easter Weekend that will go up on the forum soon.

Quinton will organise Australia Day events and everyone is encouraged to decorate their camp sites ala Aussie style. There is also access close by on the river to go for a swim, hopefully the water is a little clearer by then after all the rain.

He will also be looking at a day trip on the Saturday maybe up to see Ben at Mt Barney or Swan Gully 4wd park for the day.

We have reserved sites @ $15 per site powered or unpowered

Please advise ASAP and stick your names down

Hey Simon,
This venue is dog friendly, as long as on a lead at all times.

Simon -

Fires that are contained (brazier, portable pit etc) are permitted and dependent on any fire bans in place at the time.

Anybody arriving Thursday, you will need to give Ev a call - she will meet you at the campground and show you where she has placed us all - 0429 000 504 - if the phone doesn't answer she will call you back straight away.

Perhaps make that trip a separate day trip mate?
That way people not camping due to work or family may want to be able to just do the day trip
